TLC Education Director Completes Doctoral Degree in Public Health

Texas Liver Coalition is pleased to announce that David Erickson, Education Director, has completed his doctoral degree in public health from the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston.

As many visitors to this website already know, Dave has worked part-time in the Coalition office this past year while completing his advanced degree. An HCV patient himself, he has been successfully treated for hepatitis C. His work experience includes service for over six years as an epidemiologist with the City of Houston Health Department and other experience as a licensed alcohol and substance abuse counselor.

Dave?s duties include counseling new patients, providing health information and coordinating our statewide network of support groups. He recently has facilitated a TLC support group in Houston, as well.

?Dave now has taken up duties full-time at the Coalition, where we are looking forward to more of the same fine work from him in the future, said Richard McGowan, Executive Director.

?I hope you will join us in congratulating Dave on his well-earned degree.?
